12Yr Single Malt Whisky

The whisky presents a fresh and fruity aroma with dominant notes of Granny Smith apples and pineapple, accented by a delightful drizzle of vanilla. These bright, crisp notes are characteristic of Balblair's vibrant style.

On the palate, Balblair 12 Year Old carries over the apple flavors noted on the nose, adding depth with elements of sweet citrus, particularly oranges. It also offers honey and cinnamon spice, creating a rich yet balanced taste. The influence of the oak casks introduces a warm, complex character that complements the fruity elements.

The finish of this whisky is noted for its sweetness, featuring lingering citrusy notes alongside hints of cinnamon, creating a long and pleasing aftertaste. This finish reflects the careful cask selection and maturation process that Balblair employs to craft its whiskies.

Balblair is one of the most northern distilleries of Scotland. It lies right next to the Dornoch Firth and was established in 1790. The distillery character is best described as 'very fruity and sweet Speyside Malt'. Balblair means fertile valley, but also battlefield. This is traceable to a battle between the Picts and the Vikings many centuries ago.
