The Amrut distillery was founded in 1948 as Amrut Laboratories. Established by Shri J N Radhakrishna, the company started blending and bottling various alcoholic beverages. During the 1950s and 1960s, Amrut launched products for the Indian armed forces as well as the general market.
The standard single malt from Amrut, but bottled at cask strength to keep the flavours intact. Bottled at cask strength of 61.8%.
Nose:
Classic house style with bourbon notes fused with rich barley; reminiscent of caramelised biscuits dunked in coffee. And a bit of spice in the mix.
Palate:
Bitter-sweet with the oak and barley integrated nicely. Soft oils and orange citrus; buttery and delicate.
Finish:
Dark sugar and cocoa. Long, elegant (yet powerful) with intricate oak.
