Samuel's Collection Eden Valley Roussanne

Enjoy with a mezze platter; wild mushroom and thyme risotto; or pumpkin and ricotta ravioli with burnt butter and sage sauce

The Roussanne is sourced predominantly froma single vineyard in the Eden Valley region. Situated adjacent to the Yalumba winery on the outskirts of Angaston, the vineyard is nestled near our great Viognier vineyard. Two consecutive dry winters in Eden Valley and warm, windy weather during spring led to below average crops. Warm, dry December days gave way to a sudden rainburst and milder temperatures in January to create perfect ripening conditions for retaining high levels of natural acidity, lovely texture and flavour intensity.

Fermented & matured for 10 1/2 months in older French oak barriques.

Established in 1849 Yalumba is Australia’s most historic family owned wine company. It remains fiercely independent and extremely progressive through the generational ownership by the Hill-Smith family. Yalumba’s longevity and success is a result of patience collaboration and progressive thinking. There is foresight to embrace the natural terroir to craft wines with individual character and a sense of purpose a spirit to reinvest in the land upon which it operates and knowledge to behave as a leader in the industry. It is committed to sharing stories of provenance gathered over more than 168 years of history of family winemaking.
