Samuels Collection Barossa Bush Vine Grenache

A wine born to be served with food, try with roast duck and fennel or vegetable Jambalaya.

Made from a collection of gnarled old bush vine vineyards planted from 1920 - 1976, these vineyards produce small quantities of fruit with a high concentration of flavours. A range of terroir can be seen across the different vineyards, from sandy soils and loam to red-brown earth over red clay. Each parcel of fruit has individuality, creating intriguing complexity. Good late winter and spring rains ensured the vine canopies grew well. Optimal flowering conditions provided the ideal environment for fruit set and showed great balance. Summer was mild with below average daytime temperatures and cool nights that led to the development of fabulous colour, pristine aromatics and flavours with good natural acidity.

Matured for 10 months in older French puncheons and hogsheads.
