The cellar is solar powered and there is an on-going greening project (well over 100 000 indigenous trees have been planted in the past few years). Villiera Wines is also home to the Villiera Wildlife Sanctuary (220 Ha) Visitors are guaranteed fantastic sightings of a diverse population of antelope, for example Gemsbok, Burchell’s Zebra, Kudu, Eland, Springbok, Bontebok, Giraffe, Wildebeest etc. as well as other small mammals and a huge diversity of birdlife attracted by the 12 dams and marsh areas. On a clear day one has a beautiful panoramic view of the mountains overlooking the Cape Peninsula.
