COLOUR Crimson red NOSE Fragrant dark plum and mulberry aromas mingle with inviting fresh tobacco leaf and hints of wild jasmine. Elegant, floral, and expressive with stunning purity of fruit and subtle creaminess. PALATE Immaculate fruit purity is met with steely minerality, creamy texture a,nd appealing savouriness. Opulent fruit builds on the palate with floral and earthy notes and silky yet firm tannins. Immensely long, linear, and refreshing right through to the finish. Leaf fall occurred at the normal time which allowed good reserves to build up. Winter started late with warmer day and night temperatures and lower rainfall than in the 2016 growing season. A warm spring resulted in early, however uniform budding. A cool yet dry and windy November/December resulted in drier soils and small berries. January rains moistened soils and cool evening temperatures allowed for slower ripening of our grapes, resulting in good colour and concentration. A truly exceptional vintage.
