Pale straw colour in the glass. A complex palate with gentle oaking, fresh citrus, lemon meringue and hints of honey leading to a long/lingering/smooth finish. All in all a web of flavour. The Upside Down pig is all about finding a unique perspective. You see, Chenin Blanc in South Africa is like mud in a pig sty. It's everywhere. And while most are brilliant, they really do come in all shapes and sizes. Fat ones, thin ones, sweet ones, grim ones. So we've made sure that ours offers a different perspective of the grape. Tight, focused, minerally delicious, you won't find any flab (or any flies) in the Piggy Chenin. The upside down Pig is one of the classic Spider-man poses. We saw it as for the consumer to look at the world of wine from a different perspective. And sometimes it means turning it on its head. We have now called the wine 'KING NEPTUNE'. Why? Well our back label says not all Superheros are Human, and this is an actual Pig who raised $19million in Warbonds from 1942 to 1950 (equivalent to $200million in 2007) Find a cow or chicken who did that? Say no to chicken or beef. FYI - King Neptunes brissles (beard) was onced actioned for $500!

Spider Pig

In 2015 two Dave’s Wibberley and Nel set out to change the way people looked at a bottle of wine. Spider Pig Wines was the result based on the simple premise that great wine should create wine lovers rather than scare them away. Since then we’re all about producing quality and removing snobbery. Inviting engaging not intimidating. And as the demand for our wines has increased so have the many fantastic winemakers that we work with. So every bottle of Spider Pig has been made with a winemaker who shares this vision. A vision where what’s outside is fun but what’s inside is serious.

Food Pairing

Spider Pig pairs well with all things pork, so think pork chops with mustard sauce and pork bangers, but in this case if you divert to cheese or fish dishes, it'll be great too.
