Jakob's Vineyards lies against the slopes of the Babylons Toren mountain range, near the beautiful coastal town of Hermanus. The farm has one hectare under Cabernet Sauvignon vines and focuses on the production of quality wine which expresses its unique cool area terroir.
Description
An intense and aromatic nose shows blackberries, cloves, mint, and a strong petrichor note, while the palate is tense, spicy and vibrant. Initially tight and reserved, the wine reveals layers of fruit density showing cassis, orange rind and more plum with time in glass, all working to complement the savoury, fresh edge from wet stone, earth and fynbos. Dry, powdery tannins elongate a finish that is marked by sweet spice and leather. A 'left bank' expression that is gravely, taut and focused.
