Jakob's Vineyards lies against the slopes of the Babylons Toren mountain range, near the beautiful coastal town of Hermanus. The farm has one hectare under Cabernet Sauvignon vines and focuses on the production of quality wine which expresses its unique cool area terroir.
Description
Mulberries, black forest cake and liquorice lead the way before fresh fennel and light baking spices on the nose. The palate is coiled and tense with a Bordeaux-like wet gravel stoniness alongside dense and decadent flavours of crushed blueberry, dark chocolate and spices. The tannins are again characterised by a lively, pine waxiness, while the signature freshness and acidity is there to complement the fruit density for a balanced, generous expression of cool-climate Cabernet.
