Fuselage Wines is a Paarl producer based near the Diemerskraal airfield, bringing together a focus on local terroir and a distinctive aviation-inspired identity. Founded by Danie Morkel of Roodekrantz, the range uses estate-grown and nearby parcels to express Paarl through characterful South African wines.
Description
“This boutique winery is located near Diemerskraal Airfield; hence the biplane on the label. Produced from two Old Vine Project vineyards near Paarl, with bush vines planted in 1954, with fermentation and maturation in neutral oak to showcase the terroir. Aromas of black cherries and sultry, smoky spice, with hints of pomegranate and smoked bacon. The palate is beautifully textured; silky and smooth with a dancing line of fresh acidity; harmonious and pure fruit – raspberries and mulberries, with a touch of cranberry and fresh blackberry.
