Donkiesbaai on the West Coast of South Africa has been the vacation home to the Engelbrecht family for four generations. The grapes for this wine come from the small region of Piekenierskloof. The complexity of this wine comes from the unique Piekenierskloof climate which allows us to produce an elegant yet approachable wine.
Description
Donkiesbaai Grenache Noir 2024 is bright and vibrant with perfumed aromas of hibiscus, strawberries and red cherry, layered with a savoury forest-floor note. The palate is light-bodied and lively, where zesty cranberry meets raspberry compote and warm spice (cinnamon and clove), carried by sour-cherry acidity and spicy tannins, finishing on strawberry and spice.
Food Pairing
A versatile, lighter-bodied red that works well with charcuterie, roast chicken, grilled pork, game birds, and spice-friendly dishes; it can also suit richer fish and shellfish preparations when served slightly cool.
