Both the cabernet sauvignon and merlot vineyards are situated in the famous Banghoek valley in Stellenbosch. The area is known for producing cooler climate wines due to the high elevation.

Maturation was done for 12 months in 225L French oak barrels of which 20% were new.

The grapes were hand-picked, fermented on the skins for 7 days and then left on the skins for another 3 weeks before pressing.
