Chateau La Nerthe
In the heart of Provence, in the south-east of France, 80 km north of Marseille, Château La Nerthe is a magical belvedere place, overlooked by its 18th century castle and 16th century cellars. Between Avignon and Orange, you can admire the Dentelles de Montmirail, Mont Ventoux and the Palais des Papes. The vineyard covers 92 hectares in the Châteauneuf du Pape appellation with more than 50 plots representing all of the appellation's terroirs. The Château appears unique and unforgettable, nestled in its green park, like an island surrounded by 60 hectares of historic vines in one piece. Despite its majestic appearance, the Château has always been a welcoming place conducive to moments of discussion around its wines.
Description
Purple color with shimmering reflections. Powerful aromas on the nose: wild blackberries, ripe cherry, underlined by vanilla notes and dried flowers. Opulent on the palate, this wine is impressively concentrated, it delivers flavours of almost jammy red fruits, sweet spices (cinnamon), complemented by more vegetal touches (menthol) almost smoky. The finish is surprisingly long, the solid and homogeneous tannins predict a great aging potential!
Food Pairing
With bull rib, hare stew with ‘Grand Veneur’ sauce.
