Cederberg
Cederberg is a high-altitude wine estate in the remote Cederberg Wilderness Area, owned by the Nieuwoudt family for generations. With vineyards surrounded by rugged mountain terrain, the estate is known for Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and other South African wines shaped by altitude, isolation and dramatic growing conditions.
Description
Teen die Hoog Shiraz returns for the first time as a commercial release after years as a Cape Winemakers Guild Auction exclusive. Sandy Harper CWM describes the 2023 as “refined”, with intensity giving way to elegance and linearity, while still carrying the boldness of this exceptional Shiraz.
Food Pairing
This refined wine with its broad Shiraz appeal, made from the tiniest berries high up in this vineyard, pairs with a wide range of flavours and can even cope with some gentle spiciness. This Shiraz pairs equally as well with grilled game fish such as tuna as it does with slow-roasted, succulent lamb shoulder. The acidity of the wine gently manages the richness of the dishes.
