Tasting Notes:

Melon and Peach flavours mingle with a hint of Pine resin. It is broadly structured, aromatic and fleshy. The creamy mouthfeel and long finish can be attributed to the gentle oaking process. It displays some wood tannin on the finish that gives the wine length and freshness.

The story of Montegray Vineyards began with the purchase of a small, very special Syrah vineyard in the Banhoek Valley. Rose Jordaan from Bartinney then began looking for other small batch, interesting varietals and special vineyards in the Winelands showcasing the regions diverse nature.

This is an almost equal blend of the two varieties, with the wine sourced from a small grower in Stellenbosch.

Wine made from mature vineyards, and fermented and matured in older barrels for nine months.

Food pairing

Roussanne pairs well with pate, roast chicken, pork, veal, cream sauces, spicy flavors.
