Tasting Notes:

White, bubbly and persistent mousse characterised by tiny pearl-like chains that make up an appealing, vigorous and long-lasting “crown”. The bouquet is characterised by strong minerality; full and inviting, it embraces hints of sweet ripe fruit, meringue, pastries and candied citrus peel. On the palate, its flavour fully matches the nose, with a creamy, almost crunchy sensation and a texture that combines elegance and lightness, depth and harmony.

When Vittorio Moretti started making wine as a hobby in 1977, he could not have anticipated the vast success that Bellavista would soon achieve in terms of both undisputed quality and worldwide recognition. In fact, today, both below and above the Bellavista hill, what one can find is a veritable “empire” comprising the house, the first vineyard, the cellar, a large hotel, the restaurant of renowned international chef Gualtiero Marchesi, the “Espace Vitalité” of Henri Chenot and even the offices of Terra Moretti’s holding company.

Alma Gran Cuvee is obtained from 10 plots in the 10 districts of Franciacorta which have proven to be best suited to expressing characteristics of quality and elegance over the years. This choice requires a distinctive geographical location that meets the following requirements: south/ south-east orientation, an altitude of 200-350 metres, and full exposure to the breezes coming from Lake lseo and the Alpine foothills.

The selection made at the Franciacorta vineyard is fully reflected in the wine cellar, where each individual plot is handled separately to maintain the integrity and purity of the rich biodiversity sought in the vineyard. Bellavista has 120 harvest variations available every year, and added to these are at least 20 selections obtained from past harvests - in total 140 variations available for creating a cuvée. This is the background from which Alma Gran Cuvee comes into production, from the highly skilled and creative use of at least 75 of these variations.

The refinement period for Alma Gran Cuvee is at least 40 months, starting from harvest time.
