Tasting Notes:

Slow ripening is achieved, thus giving the grapes ample time to develop optimal fruit flavours. The wine has a citrus core of fresh limes, well defined with crunchy apple and pineapple. Salinity and mineral elements reveal itself on the palate with delicate spice adding complexity. The wine remains fresh and restraint yet gives huge drinking pleasure.

The Cape of Good Hope is the home of Pinotage. In the 1920's, the love child of Pinot Noir and Cinsaut was born. It is of great importance to winemaking in South Africa, authentically African and part of our country's rich and diverse heritage. We are now allowing the variety to express itself, without limitations.

The old vineyards are planted exclusively on decomposed granite soils, which are elevated, windblown and in close proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. The poor soils are ideal for early ripening, which allows the wine to be produced, fragrant and fresh.

B VINTNERS explores vineyards and celebrates the rich heritage of the Cape of Good Hope, with artisan crafted wines. Liberté was made with minimal intervention, to allow this African variety, to show its true sense of place and express itself as desired.

Aged in French Oak Barrels.
