Alain created the estate in 1985 and today it covers over 50 acres in Crozes Hermitage (this is the bulk of the production) and smaller parcels in Saint Joseph. The winemaking here is staunchly traditional with no destemming and aging in older barrels. These are classic, old school wines worth checking out. This wine is a barrel selection of Graillot’s best Crozes-Hermitage of each vintage after Alain has tasted every barrel. This stem-fermented wine is powerfully structured but elegant at the same time; it will age very well. The special cuvée is not terroir specific and is only produced during exceptional vintages.

100% Syrah from Graillot's 18 ha of vineyards in Crozes-Hermitage. The soils are gravel and old alluvium. Like all of his wines, grapes are hand-harvested and farmed organically.

Graillot ferments with stems for added structure and complexity. Additionally, he uses pump-overs in order to carefully integrate oxygen into the wine.

French Oak barrels, mostly second fill with only 10% new oak. Wines from different blocks are blended after a year and the ageing process is then continued in larger tanks.
